Some unscrupulous elements identified by our sources as APC faithfuls who are working for the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress – APC in Etung Local Government Areas of Cross River State Sen John Owan Enoh, unleashed violence on People’s Democratic Party – PDP faithfuls which threaten the lives of many with properties burnt down.
Reports reveals that over five persons have been hospitalized by these incessant attack launched by these “contracted thugs” as a result of severe and several machete cut.
The statistics of the victims garnered by our sources are those who were gruesomely injured as others sustained different degrees of injuries from trying to escape from the scene were over 30 persons.
Houses burnt down and properties destroyed include the house of the Commissioner for Water Resources to the Government of Cross River State in Etung.
These victims who are reportedly indigenes of Obudu Local Government Area, the home town of the sitting Governor of Cross River State Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade who are domiciled in Agbokim-Etung which is the APC Gubernatorial candidate’s home town.
Further investigation reveals that one of the victims was part of the team escort that declared support with Sen. John Owan Enoh’s brother for Governor Ayade weeks ago.
It was learnt that the victims control a large number of polling units in Carabot which is the alien component of Agbokim.
The victims are currently kept under IUC in an undisclosed hospital in Calabar for treatments.
