April 27, 2024 STATEN ISLAND, New York – A new born 1-month old baby boy was found unresponsive with suspicious injuries in a Staten Island apartment building on Saturday morning, police said.
According to police, EMS transported the infant to Richmond University Medical Center, where the child was pronounced dead following the discovery of suspicious visible signs of trauma to the boy’s left arm.
Police responded to a 911 call at 240 Broadway inside the West Brighton Houses NYCHA Building around 6:45 a.m., early Saturday.
Two people of interest were taken into police custody for questioning, with charges pending a full investigation, NYPD officials said.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examine is investigating and will determine official cause of death.
