One of the new additions coming to MultiVersus since the Open Beta period is the parry mechanic. Fans of Street Fighter 3: Third Strike should be fairly familiar with this defensive action.
With pinpoint timing and a good read on the opponent, it will be possible to render an attack useless and secure a free opening. Will it be possible to recreate Street Fighter 3: Third Strike’s Evo Moment 37 with this mechanic in play?
SunRez, an animator, created an animation that showcases how this sort of interaction could play out in MultiVersus. In this scene, Harley Quinn essentially played the role of Chun-Li while Shaggy acted as Ken Masters.
Since Shaggy only had a tiny bit of life remaining, Harley Quinn opted to perform Chun-Li’s Houyoku-Sen Super Art to finish off the match. Shaggy, however, was able to perfectly time each parry to render Quinn’s attack to be futile.
Although Harley Quinn had more than two-thirds of her life bar remaining in this version of the iconic scene, Shaggy’s take on the Ken combo that closed out Evo Moment 37 was also enough to fully deplete her life bar.
