Ever since JP was nerfed in the last big Street Fighter 6 update, Saishunkan|Nemo has been grinding hard with Blanka as his new prospective main and even recently managed to become the number one ranked player with the green beast man.
Nemo just released a new video with his official English subtitles showcasing his recent bout against another top Legend ranked specialist with IBSG|Kakeru and his world-class JP in a long set.
Things don’t initially go well for the longtime pro with Nemo dropping some key inputs and punishes in the first game though he would get to show off some of Blanka’s level 2 shenanigans in the second round.
He would manage to pull off a pretty impressive comeback to start the second game by avoiding JP’s various screen hazards, but Kakeru’s ability to perfect parry and get conversions can never be discounted.
Nemo is clearly well aware of how to approach JP with his months of experience maining the villain. That doesn’t mean, however, the puzzle is completely solved.
He notes a few times how this feels like a pretty tough match up for Blanka with the strong pokes and attacks JP can stick out in front of him in neutral that can stuff most of his approach options — especially against someone with the timing and instincts to which Kakeru has.
If / when Blanka gets in, though, his damage output and tricks makes it anyone’s game.
Even with Kakeru getting off to a win streak to start the set, Nemo still fought back hard to even it out and showed off some impressive stuff like a double level 1 combo using his Blanka-chan doll for the conversion.
It looks like they did around 12 matches in a row against each other with the final score coming down to the wire, so you can check out Nemo try and take down Kakeru with Blanka below.
