15 Facing Trial and 3 Convicted as 5 Illegal Refineries Shut Down in Cross River

Officer Adesuyi Dayo, Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Cross River says they had closed down 5 Illegal Refineries in different locations in the state for the past seven months. 


Officer Adesuyi added that about 15 persons are undergoing trials while 3 are already convicted for oil bunkering, thievery and other related activities. He also pointed out that he’s working with the Petroleum stations for the regulation of oil pump prize to meet the PPPRA wished. 


Speaking to news men in his office, Officer Adesuyi says

“We have also recovered 30 drums of fuel and succeeded in reducing bunkering activities to the barest minimum within the year under review.”



He said vandalization of cables had also been reduced and deployment of operational vehicles to avert diversion in Ogoja, Obudu, and Akamkpa local government areas of the state was on going.
