A chronic Calabar South thief was this morning almost hacked to death at Watt market by shop owners due his terrorist activities.
We’ve had several issues concerning the outrage of thieves and hoodlums in Calabar, especially the Calabar South. Some calls themselves Skolombo boys, while others identify themselves with bad nicknames.
The government in the person of Professor Ben Ayade and his SA to security has formed a group of security forces comprising of the Police, Army, Navy and many others. Recently, the operation Skolombo paraded 74 plus boys, but they seem not to stop as they keep terrorizing the lives of Cross Riverians, especially those in Calabar.
But this morning was a bad luck for this guy who broke into a shop at the popular Bedwell street in Watt market to steal from a shop owner. Many comes like that to collect money, goods and other valuable from business men across the city. But, it was a bad nightmare for the thief as he was paraded by shop owners within the vicinity.
He was butchered by the same weapons he uses to terrorized the people and almost to death. But his agony arrived when the Atakpa police station heard of the news and came for his rescue. Currently he is in the police custody for detention.
