The Cross River State College of Education, Akamkpa had suffered a fire Outbreak at the female hostel part of the institution.
The inferno was said to have started yesterday at about 11:00am when the students where receiving their lectures. The cause of the fire was said to have resulted from a burning switch which turned into a wildfire as one of the student told our reporter.
Although majority of the students went for lectures as of when the incident happened, but unluckily for one of the student that was at the hostel by that time it was a calamity for her. Calabar Reporters gathered that she was suffocated and rushed to the hospital where she’s receiving treatment.
Our reporter also gathered that there was no fire extinguisher as at the time of the incident. They were all empty, one of the porters said. It was after the incident that the school management bought some.
