Tiki-taka football was shown at Gothenburg as Arsene Wengers’s Arsenal came from a goal behind to beat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City 3-2 in their final pre-season friendly. It was a touch nut to crack, but it was all about Nigeria’s youngsters, Alex Iwobi, Chuba Akpom and Kelechi Iheanacho that
dominated the five-goal triller.
It was just 30 minutes of play when Raheem Sterling played in Sergio Aguero to score the opener, but Theo Walcot set-up Iwobi to get the equalizer at the 50th minutes during the second half. Walcott turned from provider to giving the Gunners the lead at the 73rd minute after a swift pass from Alexi Sanchez and Akpom added to the score line for the guys in red and white after being played in by Santi Cazorla. Though, Iheanacho got a late consolation goal after coming in for Aguero at the 88th minutes.
There was a sad for Arsenal as they lost star defender Gabriel who went off on a stretcher with an ankle injury late on. But the Gunners had already sealed the win to show Pep that ENGLISH football is quite dynamic.
