It’s time again and it’s getting heated in Yala Local Government Area, LGA of Cross River State as the people of Okuku, Okpoma, Yache, and others conjoined in one accord to celebrate the most anticipated NEW YAM FESTIVAL.
The festival is celebrated every year on the 30th of August and stands to beguile the cultural heritage of the Yala people who are situated in the northern part of Cross River State and shares boundaries with the neighbouring Ebonyi and Benue State respectively.
The Yala people are also known as the Ogoja (Old Ogoja) people.
