To The Youth and Sports Commissioner, We Will Resist Any Attempt To Steal Our Mandate In The Governor – Cross River Chapter Of NYC
The entire leadership of the National Youth Council, Cross River State Chapter converged at the office of the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Comrade Asu Okang, to bare their resolution to resist any attempt by anybody or group of persons to create distability in the state by wanting to take over power from behind the back door.
Each of the Local Government Chapter Chairman men spoke, affirming their resolve and commitment to support the administration of Prof. Ben Ayade. And that nothing will ever happen to their collective confidence and mandate reposed in the Governor. The Commissioner should take the message to the Governor. To them, this was the first time there is a massive youth involvement in government, which has never been.
The Commissioner, while addressing the body, warned that nobody should take the civility of Crossriverians for granted because it shall be vehemently resisted. Election victories are not won in courts, in a true democratic setting. In the gubber primary of 2014, Ayade scored 800, while the second person scored 11. Even if you multiply 11 by 18, which represents the number of Local Governments in the state, the second person will still be very far.
He went further to say that the youngest commissioners, Social Advisers, Special Assistants and DGs of Cross River State in this administration are the youngest in the whole country. Therefore, the reaction of the Youth body of the state is on course.
