The wife of Retired (Rtd) Assistant Inspector General of Police Joseph Mbu was kidnapped yesterday near her house in the Satellite Town close to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Calabar
However, when information circulated, police in Calabar promptly got into action and rescued her.
Confirming the information from the Cross River State Security Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade, Jude Ngaji said that combined efforts of the police, Daura Security Services (DSS) and other agencies helped in the rescue.
Ngaji also disclosed that they had been able to arrest two of the kidnappers who are currently being interrogated at the Police state CID, Diamond Hill, Calabar.
At the time of filing this report, Calabar Reporters are yet to find out the health being of Mrs Mbu, whether she’s been tortured by the kidnappers or not. We’ll be bringing you updates on the matters as more would follow on.
