Tekken 8 version 1.03.02 patch notes, scheduled to go live on April 15

Patch 1.03.01 for Tekken 8 caused a lot of problems in addition to adding Eddy Gordo to the game as a DLC fighter. Bandai Namco would later acknowledge how the latest update broke moves with the “Tornado” property and promised to fix these sort of issues with the next patch.

As it so happens, the next update is scheduled to go live at 7:00 p.m. PDT / 10 p.m. EDT on April 15. Of course, it should be noted that the maintenance period spanning from 6:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. PDT will disable online content on that day.

It would seem that patch 1.03.02’s main purpose is to fix the problems caused by the previous update. As such, a number of adjustments from that last update are simply being reverted.

With this upcoming update, Tornado moves will now behave as they did before patch 1.03.01 dropped. This will make it so that combos will once again be consistent.

Of course, this likely means that Bandai Namco will at one point have to address the issue in which collision detection behaves unpredictably. For now, they’re content with having combos being more consistent while they work through the issue.

There have also been some additional nerfs to Azucena as some characters are still struggling to deal with one of her attacks. With the extra recovery, the attack in question should be easier to punish.

• Rage Art Heat Burst – Fixed an issue where in specific situations, opponents were able to move during the time freeze animation before the activation of Rage Arts or Heat Bursts.

• Tornado – In version 1.03.01, adjustments were made to the collision detection between characters and walls to address the issue of slipping through opponents and whiffing when performing a Rage Art after executing a Tornado near a wall. However, as a result, certain existing combos became inconsistent. Therefore, we have reverted this adjustment.

• Forward, Forward, Forward (hold), 3 — As a countermeasure against this attack, we initially implemented balancing adjustments in version 1.03.01 with the assumption of “evading sideways and then counterattacking.” However, due to the current difficulty in executing counterattacks, we have made the following additional adjustments.

– The recovery frames have been increased by 5 frames.

– The forward movement distance after the end of the attack duration has been reduced.
