SpaceX successfully launched a second military spy satellite for South Korea today. This was announced by the Ministry of Defense in Seoul, which plans to launch a total of five spy satellites into orbit by 2025 to better monitor North Korea. In December, the first military spy satellite, carried by a Falcon 9 rocket from Space X, Elon Musk’s company, lifted off from the John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
“Our army’s second reconnaissance satellite successfully separated from the launch vehicle around 9:02 am and entered orbit,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement. “The satellite is operating normally, communicating with overseas ground stations,” it added.
