Bandai Namco confirms Rage Art and other issues introduced in Tekken 8 update with new patch in the works

It’s been just over a week since Eddy Gordo joined the cast of Tekken 8 as the first DLC character, but he ended up bringing more than just his fighting dance moves to the game.

Bandai Namco has now confirmed more issues introduced in Tekken 8’s Version 1.03.01 update that the developers plan to fix in the near future.

Although they acknoweldged a couple of unintended behaviors last week shortly after the patch, it goes beyond just Zafina’s backdash and Tornado moves messing with some combos like many players have been pointing out.

The first new one brought to attention is the apparent glitch that allows players to move during the time freeze for Rage Arts and Heat Burst activations.

It seems at least for the Rage Arts this can be done by performing a crouch throw just before the flash, and you can check out a video from I AM OP to see how it’s done and the funny interactions the bugs can cause.

They also tried nerfing Azucena’s “Espresso Agresión” to try making it easier to evade and punish.

The English post isn’t very clear, but it sounds like characters are still having a hard time countering her — so some more adjustments are going to need to be made.

Not even Eddy himself was safe apparently, as they note he can activate Heat Dash despite whiffing attacks under specific circumstances as well as messing with the opponent’s intended behaviors too.

Finally, they point to unintended dashes and backdashes coming out for the capoeira fighter.

Interestingly, there’s no mention of stage hazards and wall breaks not functioning like they used to before the patch along with some other apparent problems pointed out by players.

This patch has been fairly controversial within the Tekken base not just for the glitches and weird changes introduced but also the addition of a battle pass two months after launch.

Bamco states they’re working on the issues and plan to release a new patch to fix them “soon” though no time frame is currently given.
