After the latest balance update for Street Fighter 6, BST|Daigo Umehara was spotted spending time exploring the improvements applied to Ryu and Jamie’s kits. However, it would that Daigo intends to stick with Ken for now, at least until the next patch drops.
As pointed out by The FGC Place, Daigo has recently risen up the Master Rate leaderboard to achieve the highest rank among Ken users. Evidently, Daigo’s Ken is as strong as ever in Street Fighter 6.
Over on The FGC Place’s YouTube channel, a number of videos have been uploaded that feature Daigo going up against other top ranked players with his Ken. Needless to say, these end up being some intense match ups.
The first video has Daigo facing off against Word, the third highest ranked A.K.I. user. Despite the fact that Ken is viewed as a significantly stronger fighter than A.K.I., the two come across as being fairly evenly matches throughout the two sets.
Following this, Daigo then has a long set against Kobayan, the top Zangief on the Master Rate leaderboard. Kobayan’s patient and methodical playstyle ends up giving Daigo a real run for his money.
