It’s already the last week of March and all of the major tournament circuits have ended for the time being with the conclusion of the Arc World Tour Finals 2023, but that doesn’t mean fighting games are going anywhere in this brief competitive downtime.
Click Burgundy’s top tier fighting game portraits are always great at representing what’s been going on in the FGC through artwork, so that’s also a perfect way to start the new week.
Since the last time we’ve covered their works, Ed has released for Street Fighter 6 as well as Tekken 8 hitting launch at the end of January, so of course those got some love from the Japanese artist.
That goes for some more recent announcements too like A.B.A finally coming back to Guilty Gear Strive with a new look plus Terry blazing out a Buster Wolf for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
Our personal favorite of the whole bunch, however, is probably the Capcom Cup X celebratory piece for UMA and his Juri referencing Mobile Fighter G Gundam.
Beyond that, there’s lovely works for Ibuki in her classic ninja attire, a badass Marisa, Chun-Li, Devil Jin, Teen Gohan, and Oni.
She’s technically not in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising yet, but we had to include the Beatrix portrait too, which seems to reference a running gag from the mobile game of her busting her armor.
