Bruce Lee taking on Anubis, Cthulhu and the Grim Reaper may sound like a cool concept but produced one of the worst fighting games

The 1990’s gave us some of the best and most iconic fighting games that are still played and loved to this day, but there’s just as many if not more who tried to capture that popularity and failed terribly.

Matt McMuscles just released a new episode of his ‘The Worst Fighting Game’ series taking a look at the wild Pray For Death that saw what Killer Instinct was doing and thought ‘hey, we can totally do that too, right?’

Released in 1996 by the Italian studio Light Shock Software on the PC, Pray For Death positioned itself as the ultimate death match of killer machines, wizards, demons, gods and martial artists all fighting in a tournament under the watchful eye of Death himself, who somehow looked a lot lamer than most of the rest of the cast.

That of course has to include a Bruce Lee clone but also just straight up Anubis and Cthulhu plus seven more fighters like a robot that’s definitely not supposed to be Fulgore and turns into a washing machine for its ending.

Although it tries to look like KI with Combo Breakers and all, 10-hit combos can be performed with a single simple input that can be continued for up to 40-hits, which can leave you watching more than playing.

And that’s still just covering the basics of what went wrong here.

If you want to try it out for some reason, Pray For Death is surprisingly still available for sale on platforms like Steam and GOG for like $10.

Does Pray For Death have what it takes to dethrone Iron & Blood as the worst fighting game? You’ll have to watch Matt McMuscles’ full video below to find out.

We also recently took a gander at another recent contender for worst fighting game that’s much newer, but also looks even worse.
