There’s always a massive amount of work that goes into developing a fighting game that the public never really gets to see, so it’s really cool when some of those behind-the-scenes works reach the light of day that never actually made it into the game.
Street Fighter 6’s Director Takayuki Nakayama recently showed off some snippets of a few scrapped character designs for a fighter who didn’t reach the final cut of the roster.
Nakayama joked in his post on X/Twitter that he was hurriedly trying to put together presentation materials while riding the train to a developer panel.
Attached to said post was an image containing a cropped screenshot showing two designs that appear to be for the same character — a female fighter with blond hair.
There’s not a ton of information we can really pull from these small portions of the images though the one on the left appears to be wearing a martial arts gi with special pins and a bow in her hair.
The right image caught us by surprise at first because she looks a good bit like SNK’s Terry Bogard with the red top and white undershirt plus gloves.
Although we just know she’s a rejected character design, there are a few more details we can potentially make out.

Parts of her design suggest she may have been planned as a fighter from the Netherlands while the kanji at the top left (while cut off) appears to be that for “throw”
This could mean she was potentially an early concept for what eventually became Manon, but we won’t know for sure without more official details from the developers.
It seems this was likely being prepared to show at a presentation at the newly opened Street Fighter 6 attraction at the Lagunasia amusement park in Japan that just opened this weekend.
Nakayama previously teased a handful of other unused outfit designs for the SF6 cast that is going to be present at the theme park as well for Cammy, Juri and more.
Perhaps we’ll see some full images coming out of this event so we can get a better look at what didn’t make the final cut for SF6.
