Visual guide shows exactly what character changes took place in latest Tekken 8 patch

Things have been shaken up a bit in the world of Tekken 8as Bandai Namco rolled out an update patch this week that has altered some of the abilities and tools of some of the game’s characters.

Sure we’ve been able to read what those changes look like on paper for a few days now, but it’s always better to see what they look like in practice. Enter Rooflemonger with his new visual Tekken 8 update video.

As is usually the case with alterations like this, developers have attended to the roster both on the global and individual character levels. Rooflemonger details out some of the cast-wide changes first, but then starts looking at specific fighters.

One of the characters we keep seeing pop up with more notoriety than most is the Mexican grappler: King. Already a fairly strong character, many fans have been a tad perplexed at the fact that Bandai actually gave King a buff.

Roof shows us exactly what this buff is as King is now able to fully stop his command run to block any counter attacks that may be coming his way (shades of Street Fighter 6’s Drive System may come to mind here).

Previously King would have to commit to one of a handful of options once he entered this forward charging state, but now foes will have yet another juggling pin to consider when they see the fearsome jaguar mask barreling directly at them.

There are timestamps in the video so you can quickly hop around and navigate to see the specific changes you want first. Let us know what you think of this latest update in the comments after you’ve had a chance to check the showcase out.
