Main Purpose of the Role
The Ops Manager – Collections is responsible for all collection planning, resources and debriefing of drivers
Basic Minimum Requirements for this role
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Degree in Logistics or related
- Proven 5 years experience in operations management within the logistics / courier industry
- Minimum of 3 years experience managing people / teams in a fast paced environment
- Own transport essential
- Willing to work overtime as and when required
Skills and Competencies
- Computer Literate in MS Office packages
- Self Motivated, Self driven, goal orientated
- High attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
- Pay high attentional to detail
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all collections are efficiently actioned
- Ensure all collections are planned accordingly
- Ensure equipment on BluJay is updated regularly and is up to date
- Ensure all collections in Status 230 and lower are actioned
- Ensure collection target of no more than 30 missed collections is achieved
- Ensure all trips are closed off and debriefed
- Ensure the debriefing process is followed correctly – Trip Dock, Unload, Finalize, Debrief
- All unhandled units to be actioned daily
- Ensure the department is always QSHE compliant
- Manage staff (attendance, KPI’s, performance )
- Daily cost control (overtime etc)
- Compile daily report on missed collections with detailed explanation and send to management
