Competition at the first ever world finals for Street Fighter 6 is finally underway, and boy what a first weekend this has been in terms of action.

Now that the opening event has wrapped up, we’ve gone back and gathered the character stats for the absolutely stacked Last Chance Qualifier tournament at Capcom Cup X.

After seeing how we got almost an hour straight of mirror matches with him last night, it should come as little surprise that JP was the most popular pick among the upper bracket competitors.

The level of his success, however, is still probably higher than expected considering his 15 different mains were more than Luke and Ken in second and third place combined, which is a bit nutty.

That carried over to the top 16 as well, but we’ll get more into that in a second.

Chun-Li and Juri also saw strong representation at the LCQ though the bad lady’s numbers may be a bit deceptive next to the other characters around considering none of her five made it past 33rd place.

With over 321 players signed up for the crazy tournament, this top 64 represents the best 20% of combatants signed up though there were quite a few disqualifications.

We also got to see at least every character used at least once except for E. Honda being the only one totally absent, so we still got Ryu, A.K.I., Jamie and others.

Moving down to the finalists, JP was also by far the most picked main in the top 16 of the Capcom Cup LCQ with nearly a third of the slots taken up by the villain at five.

That didn’t really carry over to success beyond that, however, considering only Ibushigin|Kakeru made it to the top 8.

We actually only had one repeat in the top 8, and out of all contenders, it was Rashid in the hands of Chat|JB and DFM|John Takeuchi though they’d end up having to face each other in the loser’s bracket.

Otherwise, there was all different mains in the finals with Cammy, Blanka, Ken, JP, Lily and Dee Jay.

For top 16, there was a total of 10 unique character picks and only three repeats.

These finalists made up the best 5% of players who signed up for the LCQ.
