Skipping neutral to Focus Attack, Drive Rush and beyond
Everyone who plays fighting games are probably going to have some passionate opinions about them and the various moves they don’t like dealing with.
BC|LordKnight recently continued his series looking at “busted” techniques, mechanics and attacks in fighting games though the latest has a bit of a different spin put on it with the great Sajam joining as a co-host.
Instead of presenting their own picks and breakdown, LordKnight presents a series of topics that they go through and rank as overrated or underrated in their experience and FGC discourse.
Things start out with a broader topic with the idea of “neutral skip” moves in general where both fighting game experts seem to be in agreement that they’re slightly overrated as a necessity for many titles though there does reach a point where they can get to be too much.
That transitions over to some more specific options like Focus Attack in Street Fighter 4, Yellow Roman Cancel projectiles in Guilty Gear Xrd, interactables in Injustice, Drive Rush in Street Fighter 6, super dash in Dragon Ball FighterZ and more.
