Evo 2024 lineup

For over two decades now, the Evo Championship Series has brought together fighting game fans from all corners of the globe and all walks of life with no signs of slowing down now.

The organizers for the largest fighting game event in the world will be holding the Evo 2024 announcement show tonight to reveal what titles are going to be featured on the main stage and more information about the big weekend.

Evo’s annual announcement showcase is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET though there’s no details on how long it’s set to last or what all is going to be included.

Although they haven’t confirmed yet which games are going to be part of the main Evo event, there is more than a handful that are basically shoe ins already.

Judging by Evo Japan 2024’s lineup and recent games, Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Guilty Gear Strive and Mortal Kombat 1 pretty much have to be there unless there’s unforeseen circumstances.

The King of Fighters 15, Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising, Dragon Ball FighterZ and Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes are all likely candidates as well though not all of them may make it in.

With Tekken 7 and Street Fighter 5 out of the way, Dragon Ball would be the oldest modern title if chosen since it’s been featured at Evo since it released in 2018.

Considering it’s been gone since Sony partially took over, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s chances are looking pretty slim for Evo 2024, but who knows, maybe fans will be in for a surprise.

Like we saw in 2023 with Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Evo 2024 will also presumably be including another legacy title for the main stage as well.

Evo Japan 2024 has Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, so it’ll be interesting to see if they’ll repeat for the main event or go with something else like Killer Instinct.

As was announced at the end of last year’s show, Evo 2024 is going to be taking place a little earlier than usual going from July 19–21 in Las Vegas, Nevada at a new venue in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
