Isak Hansen-Aarøen is on the verge of signing for Werder Bremen today. Werder Bremer are exchanging documents with United and a permanent move and medical are set in Bremen for later today, as per Fabrizio Romano.
The 19-year-old Norwegian, whose contract is in its last six months, had been engaged in negotiations for a new deal, but nothing materialised and he’s all set to leave United.
Manchester United holds a preference for retaining Hansen-Aarøen but recognises the practicality of selling him should he opt against a contract renewal, to capitalise on his current market value.
Now it has been revealed, by the United Stand, that the reason he is leaving is because it became increasingly more apparent that the 19-year-old wasn’t going to sign a new deal regardless of the terms offered. It’s reported the requests his representatives made were unrealistic and highly unlikely to be matched by another club.
Although, the player himself was reportedly keen on making it work at United, though his limited first-team opportunities have been a source of frustration, his terms made it impossible for United to agree a new contract with him.
