This newly discovered Street Fighter 6 technique allows you to reversal super an oncoming super 100% of the time

Pulling off moves in Street Fighter 6 and getting the correct inputs can be… tricky sometimes. Despite Capcom having put into place a handful of useful fixes for the input issues players have been experiencing since launch, there are still some scenarios where getting the correct input can be dicey.

With that being said, some of us can use all of the help we can get, and this newly discovered tech from EYT Gaming is something you’ll definitely want to check out. The gist of it is, using this technique allows you to perform a reversal super when a raw super is coming your way with a 100% success rate.

Now, what EYT Gaming explains is that players have the ability to perform a super attack input during the screen freeze of the oncoming super, and have their attack come out on the first active frame after the initial super’s screen freeze concludes.

In order to do this, you’ll want to perform the super input of your choice during said screen freeze, then hold down the punch or kick button used for the maneuver. Continue to hold the button down until after the screen freeze finishes, and your super will be performed on the first frame that your character is able to move again.

What’s really interesting about this is that you can do the directional inputs for the super and hold down the attack button very early after the screen freeze, but as long as you’re still holding the button when the freeze is up the move will still come out. This makes it so that you never mistime your reversal super, giving you a 100% chance of success (as long as you did the input correctly).

Testing this myself for a bit, I found some other details about this technique. From what I was able to find, it appears as though this only works when you’re up against a raw super, and if the super comes after a blocked attack, you won’t be able to use this technique for your own reversal super.

Additionally, the method of performing the directional inputs then holding the attack button during the super screen freeze also works for special moves, and going even further than that, it also works for normal attacks too. Basically, if you input something within the screen freeze and continue to hold the button down, you’ll get whatever attack you did on the first possible frame when your character is able to move again.

But what scenarios would this tech be useful for? Well, countering an opponent’s wake up super with your own for a big punish is one of the ways you could apply this interesting technique.

You might also consider doing this when you are stuck in burnout and an opponent attempts to chip you out with either a raw or wake up super.
