Daigo Umehara says that AngryBird is the strongest Ken of Street Fighter 6 after his first set of matches against him

FAV Cup 2023 was a Street Fighter 6 tournament that took place in Tokorozawa, Japan. Though they were foreign to the location, players like NASR|AngryBird, SR|NuckleDu, and Bandits|MenaRD had the opportunity to compete against the likes of Rohto|Tokido, BST|Daigo Umehara, and FAV|Sako.

A day prior to the event, Daigo and AngryBird had the opportunity to practice against one another in a series of online sets. As such, Daigo Umehara was streaming at the time and recently uploaded translations of his perspective of the encounter, which also happened to be the first time that Daigo played against AngryBird in Street Fighter 6.

Daigo clearly had a lot of respect for AngryBird as he was jokingly referring to him as “master” for the stream. Needless to say, AngryBird proved to be the dominant player in the set (and afterwards at FAV Cup 2023 where he won the whole thing).

Following the encounter, Daigo was left to reflect on AngryBird’s playstyle. He noted that his own style tended to be more offensive while AngryBird had a bigger focus on defense.

“I think I actually made contact on the offensive more times than him, but he’s so good at defense,” stated Daigo. “He actually made me wonder if I should be playing more like that.”
