Junior Accountant at Clicks Group

Job Purpose:

To ensure no trade supplier are paid on time and accurately, keeping queries to a minimum, comply with company policies and accepted accounting practices and guarantee that the management accounts of the business reflect the true status of non-trade supplier accounts.

Key Performance Areas:

Reconciliation of sundry creditor payments on allocated vendors
Reviewing of sundry creditors payments and petty cash recons prepared by staff members.
Manage outstanding queries on supplier accounts as well as from department managers relating to non-trade suppliers/vendors.
Ensure aligned and timeous processing of transactions relating to non-trade procure to pay process.
Prepare and review documents and accruals processed for non-trade suppliers to ensure financial statements reflect the status of non-trade suppliers accurately.
To ensure controls, compliance and governance are embedded and maintained across the non-trade procure to pay process.
Ensure reconciliations are prepared monthly between supplier statements, UPD supplier recons and the non-trade age analysis, resolving long outstanding recon items.
Ensure cash optimization by only paying vendors according to payment terms, on set payment dates, notifying treasury monthly in advance of payments to be made for cash purposes and notifying the Financial Controller of payments outside of the normal payment runs.
To meet quality and compliance objectives that arise from internal, external and BBEE audits, including the collation of BBEE certificates and reporting for internal and external audits where applicable to non-trade accounts payable.

Minimum requirements

Minimum Education and Qualification:
Matric
Degree in Accounting

Minimum Experience:

2 – 3 years capturing and preparing high volume, high value creditor payments.
1 year experience capturing and preparing cashbook or petty cash recons
1 year experience managing staff
