Bandai Namco surprised fans with the big reveal of Tekken 8’s version of Kuma when the bear was seen to have access to the iconic Electric Wind God Fist (EWGF) technique in the latest game. Obviously taking inspiration from legacy character Heihachi and the Mishima family, the savage fighter is now able to juggle opponents with the powerful special move.

One fan, an artist, decided to whip up a funny comic strip that details how the bear may have learned this legendary technique.
Mr BlondetanamoBay shared the four-panel strip on X (formerly Twitter), and let’s just say that Kuma had to work pretty hard to learn how to do the Electric Wind God Fist…

The comic strip depicts Kuma fully decked out in his new Heihachi attire. In the first panel, we see the bear intensely reading a book entitled “HOW TO EWGF,” and he seems pretty confident… at first.

Things are still going well for Kuma in the second panel, where he sees an images that shows the inputs for the Electric Wind God Fist (or “Electric” for short), and he points to it in a way that shows total concentration.

We then see a close up of the input, which also happens to feature a silhouette of Kazuya demonstrating the move. Unfortunately, the input and the concept appears to be too much for Kuma to handle as the final panel shows a totally perplexed bear with a question mark over his head.

Not only is the progression of Kuma’s learning woes hilarious here, but the art style employed throughout almost resembles something that we’d see in The Simpsons.

The Electric Wind God Fist in Tekken is one of the series’ most iconic moves. For its franchise, the EWGF could be seen as the equivalent to Street Fighter’s Hadoken or Shoryuken.

This powerful attack is notorious for its trait that sees it become even stronger if you execute incredibly precisely. What might be perplexing poor Kuma here is not just the input itself, which is also fairly complex as far as fighting game inputs go, but its potential for becoming even stronger if Kuma can do it right.

All of that being said, at least we know that Kuma stuck with it and is now able to use the Electric Wind God Fist in Tekken 8 freely and happily. Kuma’s iteration of it, however, is called the Wind Bear Fist, and not only does it have a new, unique input, but it can only be performed when Heat is activated.

Tekken 8 is set for release on January 26, 2024. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
