Georgia man accused of fatally stabbing his father and injuring his mother

TOCCOA, Ga. (TCD) — Officials arrested a 39-year-old man this week on suspicion of fatally stabbing his father and severely injuring his mother.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), on Thursday, Dec. 28, at approximately 7:40 a.m., the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Bart Holmcomb Road to a report of an individual stabbed. Deputies discovered 63-year-old William Vaughn dead inside the home and found Christopher Vaughn locked inside a room. The sheriff’s office apprehended Christopher Vaughn at the scene.

The GBI said officials located another victim, 62-year-old Janet Vaughn, inside a nearby residence with “substantial injuries.” She was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.

Christopher Vaughn is the son of Janet and William Vaughn, WAGA-TV reports.

According to the GBI, prior to the stabbing call, at around 6 a.m. that day, the sheriff’s office responded to the same house in reference to a verbal domestic call.
