The shooting on Christmas Eve has once again sparked concerns about safety in the area. The Seattle Police Department (SPD) has reported that the incident took place near Occidental Park, in close proximity to the bustling bars and nightclubs. According to the SPD, the victims, who range in age from 25 to 34 years old, were transported to Harborview Medical Center.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are currently under investigation, and the SPD is actively seeking any information that may aid in determining the sequence of events. Witnesses have informed the authorities that a black sedan and a white sedan were potentially involved in the incident. Both vehicles were last seen traveling westbound on S Washington Street.

Two of victims were found about a half a mile away at 2nd Ave S and University Street. The other three victims were found on S Washington Street near 2nd Ave S. The SPD confirmed Monday the victims found at 2nd Ave S and University Street had fled from the original shooting location.

There was another shooting during the same time that law enforcement said was unrelated. That shooting was in the Chinatown-International District. A person with a gunshot wound was found at 5th Ave S and S Jackson Street. It was a non-life threatening injury. Police said no further details have been released on that shooting.
