Cross River Government to Honour Late Hon. Chris Agibe with Valedictory Executive Council Session

As part of activities to honour the late former Commissioner for Agriculture, Finance and Works, Hon. Chris Agibe, the Cross River State Government has announced plans to hold a special Funeral Valedictory session of the State Executive Council for the former House of Representatives member.

In a release signed by the Permanent Secretary (EXCO), Orok Bassey Okon, past members of the State Executive Council—particularly those who served between 1999 and 2007—are cordially invited to attend the commemorative meeting.

According to the release,  the solemn session will take place on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Executive Council Chamber, Governor’s Office, Calabar.

Okon said the gathering will pay glowing tributes to the late Agibe’s enduring legacy of service, honour, and excellence, as the state government reflects on his impactful contributions to governance and development during a critical phase in Cross River’s history.
