Nnewi North LG chairman empowers traders with 200 lock-up shops to mark 6months in office

The Executive Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon Echezuna Anazodo has empowered over two hundred traders in the council area with free lock-up shops.

He said his administration has also made available fertilizers and other farming tools for 520 farmers in the council area for the 2025 farming season.

Anazodo disclosed this while briefing Journalists at the council headquarters in Nnewi on Saturday, as part of activities to mark his 6-months in office, noted that the empowerment cut across political line.

He said the gesture and other below achievements within the period under review were part of the electoral promises he made to the good people of Nnewi North during his campaign.

He said his administration will continue to deliver the needed dividend of democracy to the people in line with governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s vision of making Anambra a destination point in Nigeria.

“Within this period of six months in office as the executive chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area under the political platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, my administration has provided good governance across the four corners of the council area.

“Within the period under review, my administration has also empowered more than 200 youths in various skills acquisition programmes, purchased the 2025 JAMB form for hundred of intelligent indigent students and the ongoing re-construction of Okpaka bridge that has been abandoned for decades by the past administrations.

“The lock-up shops are mainly for the low income traders like, ice-fish and fufu sellers.

“The empowerment gestures are done in partnership with a group known as Nnewi Forum. According to him, the group was formed by some relevant stakeholders in the area with aims of supporting governor Soludo in actualizing his vision of making Anambra a clean, green, smart peaceful, secure, livable and prosperous state in Nigeria.

“This support is meant to help our people grow without adding any burden.

“My administration is again embarking on a revalidation of street naming to curtailed personality conflict among Nnewi sons and daughters.

“We are also planning to reward those who have contributed one way or the other to the growth and development of the industrial city of the State.

“I am using the little fund we are generating within the council area to execute all this projects and I am very much comfortable with it. I am towing the path of our solution governor who has vow to governed the State without borrowing.

“I commended the governor for that, and for running the affairs of the State.with genuine intention

The Chairman, while seeking media partnership in promoting his administration, vow to deliver 120 percent votes for the governor’s reelection bid in the upcoming November 8, 2025  governorship election in the state.
