200 PDP, APC Stakeholders Defect To Labour Party In Abia

Over 200 former members of the All Progressive Party (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ohafia local government have defected to the Labour Party.

The open defection took place during an enlarged Labour Party meeting of the LGA, Ward, community executives and members of the party.

The Deputy Governor, Abia State Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu commended their courage towards taking a bold step that will brighten their political prosperity and assured them of equal treatment in moving the party forward.

He maintained that the transformational approach to governance by Dr Alex Otti, speaks volumes, assuring cosy victory of the party at all levels come 2027.

He urged undecided opposition members to join the party.

The Deputy Governor alsp urged them to work towards unifying party members at all levels towards securing resounding victory in the 2027 general elections.

Emetu called on the people to continue to accord the government of Otti, maximum loyalty and support, in gratitude to the magnanimity of the Governor in appointing many Ohafia sons and daughters into various political positions as well as the significant developmental strides in the LGA and across the state.

The State Labour Party Chairman, Emmanuel Otti, described the Labour Party as the beautiful bride in Nigeria’s political space.

He urged them to remain loyal and committed to the government of Otti, as the party is well known for its hospitality, sense of responsibility and equal opportunity.

He acknowledged the developmental strides of the Governor and assured of landslide victory of the party in the state in 2027.
