Manchester United are expected to prioritise attacking signings this summer as Ruben Amorim looks to bring more goals to Old Trafford.

The excitement of scoring seven goals across games against Real Sociedad and Leicester City has quickly faded.

United have failed to find the net in their last two games, falling short against both Nottingham Forest and Manchester City.

That kind of inconsistency is something Amorim will be desperate to address as he prepares for his first summer window in charge.

Striking reinforcements are high on the list, with Hugo Ekitike of Eintracht Frankfurt believed to be a major target.

Yet United’s 3-4-2-1 system also demands creativity and goal threat in the pair of number 10 roles behind the striker.

Wolves forward Matheus Cunha is one option United admire, while a reunion between Amorim and Francisco Trincao has also been mooted.

Manchester United linked with Bologna’s Dan Ndoye yet again

Another name to resurface is Dan Ndoye, the Bologna wide man who was previously linked with United last summer.

Ndoye impressed at Euro 2024 for Switzerland and has continued to shine in Serie A, most recently scoring a spectacular back-heel finish against Napoli.

Reports from Tuttomercatoweb and Gazzetta dello Sport now claim that United are ready to challenge Napoli for his signature.

Bologna recently rejected an offer from United for the talent, previously reported on CentreDevils.

Ndoye is primarily a winger, but has also operated as a second striker or attacking midfielder when needed – though Amorim may need to mould him into a more central role.

The bigger edge United may have is off the pitch, with INEOS’ involvement.

Ndoye came through the youth system at Lausanne-Sport and moved to Nice in 2020 – both clubs under the INEOS umbrella, like United now.

He didn’t hit the heights in France but is now excelling in Italy, prompting suggestions INEOS could reunite with a familiar face.
