At least seven people lost their lives on Saturday morning, while four others sustained varying degrees of injuries in an accident that occurred at Ibafo, Ogun State, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The crash, which involved three vehicles, caused a major traffic gridlock, leaving commuters stranded for hours as emergency responders worked to clear the wreckage and rescue victims.
Confirming the incident to THE WHISTLER, the spokesperson of the Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Florence Okpe, said three vehicles were involved.
“Seven people were killed, while four were injured. Three vehicles were involved in the accident,” Okpe told THE WHISTLER.
Emergency responders were still at the scene, attempting to rescue those trapped in the wreckage as of the time of filing this report.
