Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy could be out of the job for the second time this season.
The legendary striker re-joined Manchester United in the summer as part of Erik ten Hag’s redesigned coaching staff, as United attempted to turn things around under the Dutchman’s leadership.
However, this didn’t pan out, with United doing worse this season than their eighth-place finish in the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.
As such, ten Hag was dismissed last October, with van Nistelrooy being promoted to the role of interim manager until Ruben Amorim could take up his new permanent role at Old Trafford.
Van Nistelrooy managed the club for four undefeated games, ironically beating Leicester twice, once in the Premier League and again in the Carabao Cup, with an aggregate score of 8-2.
However, the Dutchman’s second stint at Old Trafford ended when Amorim brought his staff from Sporting Lisbon with him, replacing all of the new appointments that had been made only a few months beforehand.
The United legend found himself without work for just under a month before being snapped up by Leicester in December.
Unfortunately, van Nistelrooy’s run with The Foxes hasn’t been as successful, with only three wins and a draw in 18 games.

Ruud van Nistelrooy replacement being lined up
Now, L’Equipe has reported, via the Derby Telegraph, that Leicester are now looking for van Nistelrooy’s replacement.
The main candidate is Liam Rosenior who’s currently managing Strasbourg in Ligue 1, leading them through a highly successful season.
The French side are on the brink of European qualification, with Rosenior asked about the chances of European football next season, commenting: “We are in the world of football to dream. I will never prevent my players from dreaming. It’s not arrogance, but we are four points away from third with eight games to play. Of course, it’s possible!”
With the Foxes keeping tabs on other candidates, it’s not a positive sign for the Dutchman, however the report also expresses that there are no immediate plans to remove van Nistelrooy from the role.
