Manchester United have a truly incredible range of talent in and coming through their academy, with the club keen on giving their youngsters opportunities in the senior squad.
Last season saw Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho breakthrough into the senior squad, establishing themselves as key players under Erik ten Hag.
When Ruben Amorim took charge it was made a priority to utilise the existing talent in the squad, including the potential of his academy stars.
This season has seen players like Toby Collyer, Harry Amass and Chido Obi all feature in the senior squad, with Jack Fletcher, Sekou Kone, Elyh Harrison, Dermot Mee, Tyler Fredricson and Godwill Kukonki to name a few who have sat on the bench as unused substitutes.
However, a new report from GiveMeSport has indicated that United’s strategy involves using their talented youngsters in key roles as providing cover for regular starters.

Ruben Amorim considers new role for Harry Amass
The report also explains that Ruben Amorim is now reconsidering his previous views on Harry Amass, now looking to use the left-back as a back up for Patrick Dorgu who joined from Lecce in the winter.
Previously “influential figures” at Old Trafford had concerns around Amass’ physical ability to breakthrough into Premier League football.
However, after an impressive showing against Leicester in United’s 3-0 win, Amorim is being forced to review this, as the youngster held his ground well.
With Diego Leon set to join the club in the summer from Cerro Porteno, Amass is keen to grab every opportunity whilst he’s got no other left-back’s to compete with for the back-up slot behind Patrick Dorgu.
At the moment Diogo Dalot is the primary back-up for Dorgu, being shifted from the right flank to the left as he’s covered the role for over a year thanks to injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
Now, Amass’ ability is giving reason for Dalot to remain on the right, with the 18-year-old hoping for more chances to shine on the left.
