Armed herdsmen reportedly invaded Aba Oyinbo, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, in the early hours of Wednesday, shooting dead no fewer than five farmers.
It would be recalled that 20 farmers in four farm settlements in the same local government area were killed by suspected bandits some days ago.
Reacting to the latest killings, protesters on Wednesday stormed the Governor’s Office at Alagbaka, Akure, the state capital, displaying bodies of the casualties.
Another set of protesters is said to have barricaded Akure/Owo Road at Ogbese, rendering commuters and motorists stranded.
There has been incessant killing of farmers in the state by armed herdsmen in the last two months.
The protesters demanded immediate action from the governor.
