Manchester United loanee Antony is in fine form with Real Betis, having moved to LaLiga to kick start his career anew.

Since moving to Old Trafford from Ajax in 2022, the winger has failed to justify the £80 million spent to sign him, ultimately being regarded by many as a flop.

However, his instant rejuvenation in Spain shows the potential the Brazilian still has.

Antony has registered four goals and four assists in 11 games, helping Betis fight towards the top of the LaLiga table and battle on in the UEFA Conference League.

Now, the Spanish club have a new proposal for United, showing their long-term intent for their star winger.

Real Betis try to retain Antony

Spanish outlet ABC has reported that Betis are looking at submitting a proposal to United to retain Antony past the end of the season.

The offer would see the winger remain in Spain for another season on loan, seeing out the 2025/26 season.

In a bid to appeal to United, Betis are also adding in that they’re cover more of his wage than they currently are, providing the qualify for Champions League football next season.

To do so, the club will need to finish in the top four of LaLiga, where they are currently eight points short in sixth place.

Betis will need to leapfrog Villarreal who are on the same points however with a game in hand to catch up with the top four of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao.

However, this decision clearly shows the high regard they hold for the winger, hopefully resulting in a permanent move for United’s forgotten man.
