Overall, Street Fighter 6 seems to be in a fairly decent place in terms of balance, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some standouts for who is too powerful or too weak in the game.
So what do the pros have to say about the worst characters in the game?
During Capcom Cup 11, Broski went around the player lounge and asked 17 of the top competitors in the world who they think is at the bottom of the meta in Season 2.
He ended up talking to and getting answers from the likes of KC|Kilzyou, SR|NuckleDu, FLY|Punk, JB, NIP|Phenom, Shine, RC|Big Bird, RC|Angrybird, DFM|Itabashi Zangief, AEG|Mister Crimson, iDom, Falcons|NL, Gaimin|Xian, WBG|MenaRD, Dual Kevin, Talon|Hotdog29, and JuicyJoe.
There are five characters who receive votes from the top player pool between Lily, Jamie, Marisa, E. Honda and Manon, but only two received more than a couple picks each.
Ultimately, Marisa got double the unfortunate picks of Jamie with nearly half of the group saying her name at eight total.
As a former Marisa main, Big Bird feels as though she’s not playing the same game as the rest of the cast and that the Season 2 update hit her especially hard last year.
Itabashi Zangief kind of agrees with that sentiment with Marisa as his pick as well, but thinks the balance of the game is good.
Mister Crimson adds that she is a good noob killer character, but she struggles to win at high levels now with bad anti-airs, conversions and a slow walk speed, no throw loops and bad defensive options outside of her armor.
NL feels that Marisa is not a bad fighter per se, but she’s the one that struggles most to win tournaments now.
Hotdog29 was among those to say Jamie since he’s grinded most of the cast in Ranked, however, still feels the character could get really annoying if he’s buffed because he still has many of the tools needed to be good in SF6.
Marisa, Jamie and Lily were among the few characters not to be used at Capcom Cup 11 either according to our stats, so there’s some data backing that up too.
This comes after Broski previously asked the pros for their top five characters in SF6 as well as what changes they all want to see in Season 3 where there was certainly overlap in their answers there as well.
