Job Description

  • Our client, a leading mining conglomerate in Gauteng, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Transformation Specialist to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage cutting-edge technology transformation initiatives in the mining sector

Role Overview:

  • The Digital Transformation Specialist will be responsible for driving and facilitating the change management process in various technology projects across the Africa Region. You will be leveraging Organizational Change Management (OCM) methodologies to maximize the ROI of human capital, ensuring seamless digital transformation for the business

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and manage change processes in technology projects, programs, and tools to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies and processes
  • Define and align technological solutions with business needs, working closely with transformation agents and project teams
  • Prioritize digital initiatives that rationalize resources, and technological applications, and add value to the business
  • Monitor and control the achievement of benefits from digital transformation projects, ensuring successful implementation
  • Lead the strategic planning and tactical execution of digital initiatives to achieve the Smart Mine 2030 vision
  • Oversee project management activities related to digital transformation, including conceptual engineering, technological design, and business case development
  • Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers, ensuring high-quality service delivery
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment with the company’s long-term digital strategy and objectives
  • Participate in budgeting, resource allocation, and approval of expenditures for technology-related projects

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline

Certifications: 

  • A+
  • N+
  • ITIL 4.0 (preferred)

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience: 6-8+ years in digital transformation, technology project management, or related roles, preferably within the mining industry (not essential)
  • Specializations in Digital Transformation, Business Analytics, Process Automation & Improvement, Data Analysis, and OT Systems are highly desirable
  • Proven experience managing large-scale technology change initiatives and working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong understanding of business needs and the ability to develop technological solutions to meet those needs
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
