This time last year, Mason Greenwood was on loan at Getafe, trying to kickstart his career once more after a two-year suspension by Manchester United pending criminal investigation.
The 23-year-old hit the ground running with the Spanish side, grabbing ten goals and six goals in 36 games, winning the club’s Player of the Season award.
In the summer, this impressive return to the pitch saw Greenwood move to Marseille where he has continued thriving away from Old Trafford.
With 15 goals and four assists in 24 games, currently sitting as one of Ligue 1’s top goalscorers, helping Marseille hold second place in the league.
However, his continued run of form might just help United with their financial struggles.

Mason Greenwood to help with Manchester United’s financial pressures
Upon selling Greenwood for £26.6 million, United included a massive 50% sell-on clause.
Now With clubs like PSG and Barcelona looking to the former England international, United could be set for a massive return.
Talksport has reported the interest as well as highlighting his current worth as £60 million, meaning Amorim’s side could be set for a £16.5 million windfall from any sale.
The Red Devils are in desperate need for transfer funds, with further redundancies being made to direct funds to the transfer budget.
Already Aston Villa have an option to buy Marcus Rashford in the summer for £40 million, whilst Chelsea have an obligation to by Jadon Sancho for between £20 million and £25 million.
If these three sales take place, including a move for Greenwood, United could see around £80 million, helping the side secure some much needed strength in the squad.
