Wayne Rooney’s managerial career took another setback in December when he parted ways with Plymouth Argyle after just two months in charge.

The Manchester United legend struggled to make an impact at Home Park, leaving with the club sitting 21st in the Championship table.

Since his departure, Rooney has reflected on his time at Plymouth and previous managerial stints.

Wayne Rooney takes up short-term coaching role in Dubai

For now, Wayne Rooney has taken up a short-term coaching role in Dubai.

The Englishman is now working with Football Escapes at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

The programme allows young children to train under the guidance of former professionals.

Rooney joins a lineup that includes Michael Owen and Mark Noble.

Parents have paid between £7,500 and £8,650 for the five-day package at the five-star resort.

It features multiple pitches, a gym, five swimming pools, and a private beach.

Rooney was seen wearing a Football Escapes training shirt while putting young players through their paces on the opening day of the programme.

Despite his current coaching role, Rooney remains determined to return to club management.

He has admitted that his next job must be the “right fit,” with a move back to the Championship his likely target.

Many English ex-players have struggled to transition into management, with some opting to return to punditry for Sky Sports or TNT Sports.

However, Rooney remains focused on proving himself in the dugout and rebuilding his reputation as a coach.
