Ryu joins the 2-touch kill club in Street Fighter 6 with this devastating sequence that wipes out a whole life bar in just two combos

We’ve seen a handful of characters in Street Fighter 6 who have been inducted into the “2-touch kill” club. This club is exactly as it sounds in that it refers to fighters that can wipe out an opponent’s full life bar with essentially two openings.

Characters like JP and Marisa are among the most capable of performing this feat, but it looks like another character has entered their ranks. Apparently Ryu, Street Fighter’s poster boy, is also able to KO an opponent with a full life bar in just two combos/openings.

The idea behind the 2-touch kill is that it utilizes as many resources as needed and is generally something that is very practical for a real match. Sometimes we see these set ups begin when an opponent’s Overdrive reversal is blocked, which is a common scenario and one that allows for really big damage.

In Ryu’s case, all he needs is a Denjin Charge stocked and a standing heavy kick to… kick things off. This tech and the footage for it comes from Ryu Apprentice, who is a known lab monster in the fighting game community.

The first touch begins with Ryu hitting Guile with a standing heavy kick into crouching medium kick into OD Tatsu in the corner. He closes out this first combo with a heavy Dragon Punch, which knocks Guile down and sets up the next touch.

Guile wakes up with an OD Flash Kick, which Ryu parries for the extra meter, and from there Ryu Apprentice cracks Guile with a Punish Counter heavy Donkey Kick that sends him into a tumble state. While tumbling backward, Ryu is able to perform a raw Drive Rush and pick Guile back up with a crouching heavy punch, and the rest of this sequence is a series of juggles and Drive Rushes that end in a powerful Critical Art.

At the end of it all, Guile lost an entire life bar for what is essentially two bad plays. While that might seem like it’s just too much, Ryu maxes out on all of his resources, needs a Denjin Charge, and needs the right positioning on screen for all of this to work properly.

Street Fighter 6 is an incredibly resource management-intensive game, so while going for a 2-touch kill sequence in the last round is absolutely a strong tactic, it comes with its own risks. For one, you’ll have to save up your resources for you to even be able to get a sequence like this in play, meaning less answers for some of the game’s tougher offensive options in the earlier rounds.

On top of that, if you mess up the sequence for any reason you’ll be out of very important resources that you’ll need for survival. That being said, this is still an awesome discovery and one that will undoubtedly be hype when we see it used in an actual match.
