Here's a guide to everything you need to know to start playing Elphelt in Guilty Gear Strive

Guilty Gear Strive got its latest DLC newcomer Thursday as Elphelt Valentine brings her bright and love-filled personality and painful punches to the game.

Arc System Works has shared a character guide so we can all get off to a strong start as we aim to make sense of Elphelt’s manipulative projectiles, pre-cooked combo strings, and oppressive offense.

One of Elphelt’s party starters has to be her “Miss Charlotte” fireball, a homing projectile that can be fired off at various angles and force opponents to maneuver and block from most ranges.

Perhaps the most immediately intriguing aspect shown off for this move is the fact that you can actually fire the shot so that it misses and goes behind the opponent only to zip right back at them from the rear.

Elphelt’s “Bomb Bomb Chocolat” sees her leap in a short arc while placing a bomb directly beneath her. In essence, the character can use this maneuver to cross over the opponent (or simply look like she’s going to) and make for a gnarly mix up that will surely crack foes’ defense more than it doesn’t.

There’s a ton more the video will take you through, and even if you don’t have much interest in using Elphelt as a new main character, you’ll definitely want to know how her go-to specials work so that you can defend against them.
