The Imo State Police on Sunday confirmed the abduction of Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) President, Comrade Igboayaka Igboayaka.
Igboayaka according to sources was whisked away by gunmen dressed in all black and numbering about seven at works layout in Owerri, the Imo State capital on Saturday evening.
Efforts by his family, friends and OYC to get across to him have hit the brick wall as all his lines have been switched off since the Kidnap.
Confirming the abduction, the Imo State Police Command Spokesperson, Henry Okoye said that the command has commenced efforts to unravel the whereabouts of the OYC president.
He said: “The Imo State Police Command has initiated an investigation to determine the whereabouts of the President of Ohaneze Youth Council (OYC) Comrade Igboayaka.
“In the meantime, the Command has confirmed that he has not been arrested. Anyone with information is urged to promptly notify the police.”
He however called on anyone with useful information to come up with as that will help in the investigation.
