AACC announces Frank Shaffer as Chamber President’s Award recipient

The Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce President’s Award for 2024-2025 is Frank Shaffer.
An Andalusia native, Frank serves as the current director of the Covington County E911 Center. He worked there as a 911 dispatcher for 12 years back in the early 2000s and was very excited for the opportunity to come back.
Before being hired as the 911 director, he was the Covington County Emergency Management Agency’s deputy director from 2017 until 2024. Prior to EMA, he held many roles within the Andalusia City School system. He was well-known and well-loved by faculty, staff, and students alike.
Frank is very active in the civic life of Andalusia. He was the Andalusia High School Band Booster president from 2012 to 2018. Following the graduation of his children, he returned to help and was the booster president in 2021 and 2022.
Frank has also served as a board member for Meredith’s Miracles and is now an honorary board member. He volunteered his time at the annual Cookies with Characters beginning in 2014 as the genie. He was in the show every year until 2017 and then returned in 2020 as the genie. In 2021 and 2022, he switched roles to become Handkerchief Hank and became the conductor in 2023.
When he is not working, Frank can also be found on the stage as he has been in several dinner theater productions with Act I. He has also been actively involved with ReAct Theatre and Arts, where he has performed in several productions and served as a board member.
He and his children have also performed at July Jamz, Angel of Hope, and at LBW. Some people may even remember the times he graced the stage dressed up as a woman to help raise money for Relay for Life.
He and his family attend Andalusia Bible Church, where he has served as the associate pastor for almost five years. He was previously the youth pastor at the church for almost 20 years. He is also the drummer for the church’s praise and worship team. In addition, he served in the Old School Men’s Ministry from 2014 to 2021.
Frank is married to his wife of 28 years, Jeremie Shaffer, and they have a daughter, Lorren Shaffer, and a son, Riley Shaffer.
