Tennessee woman accused of fatally stabbing ex-husband during dispute about movie

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (TCD) — A 49-year-old woman stands accused of killing her ex-husband this week during an argument about watching a movie.

On Tuesday, Dec. 5, the Memphis Police Department responded to a report of a domestic incident at 3713 Robin Park Circle. Inside the home, officers found a male victim suffering from stab wounds, and he was transported to Regional One Health, where he died from his wounds.

Officers apprehended a female, identified by WATN-TV as Tasha Williams, at the scene.

According to an affidavit obtained by WATN, Williams told police that she and her ex-husband, Michael Williams, were drinking when they got into a dispute. The victim allegedly wanted to go to another location to watch a movie, but Tasha Williams did not, and he knocked her glasses. Tasha Williams sustained a cut near her eye as a result.

Williams reportedly told police she cleaned around her eye, and the victim attempted to assist. Williams then became upset, grabbed a kitchen knife, and allegedly stabbed her ex-husband in the chest.

Williams and the victim had reportedly been involved in previous domestic violence incidents.

Williams was booked into the Shelby County Jail on a charge of second-degree murder. She remains held on $80,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 8.
