After just 17 frenetic days, Trump has already delivered most of his agenda

While most presidents take months or years to complete the items they promised on the stump, Donald Trump signed 36 executive orders in his first week alone. Since then, almost daily, he has hosted the press in the Oval Office as his actions approach 50.

When President Donald Trump affixed his signature on Executive Order 14168 at an Oval Office ceremony Wednesday afternoon, he drew smiles from the young female athletes who surrounded him. They knew he had delivered on his promise to protect women sports from the intrusion of transgender men.

Such scenes have played out almost daily since Trump took office 17 days ago, a historically aggressive start to a presidency that on Wednesday checked off yet another of the 20 items on his 2024 campaign platform’s promises made, promises delivered list.

It’s a pace that has whipsawed liberals, amazed veteran observers in Washington and fundamentally changed the compass settings for America, just like Trump promised.

“I think this is comparable to the full presidencies of other Presidents and those who’ve preceded him in the Oval Office. Certainly the first term I thought was consequential. His first two weeks have been as consequential as any presidency, certainly as Reagan’s was in terms of government reform and oversight and the idea that we’re now talking about curtailing, in significant ways, the size of federal employment officials that work for the taxpayer, for the first time in 40 years,” Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton told Just the News.

But Trump’s initial flurry has been conducted almost exclusively though executive fiat, a tactic that a future Democratic president could quickly reverse with his own executive orders.

The next phase of the Trump 2.0 transformation involves another player, Congress, who must codify Trump’s policy revolution into laws that can withstand legal challenges in the courts.

Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C., who is playing an essential role in the congressional surge as a member of both the House Rules and Budget Committees, told Just the News he is confident his GOP colleagues in both chambers are going to pass legislation that makes permanent the Trump agenda.

“Since 2017 we wanted to pass President Trump’s agenda, which is deportation, fully funding the military, funding the tax cuts and Jobs Act. We want to fund that. And you know, it’s just a real relief that now we’re not just talking about it, but we’re doing it. And I think the House will have a resolution very soon. The budget will and I think, I think the American people are going to be proud of it.

Norman, who in the past has clashed with other colleagues for refusing to make deeper spending cuts, also expressed optimism this Congress is on course for a deal as early as next week to slash as much as $2 trillion for spending over the next decade.

“I would love to see from $2 to $6 trillion. You know it’s going to be an effort to go as high as we can. From the talks we’ve had today on the cuts, I’ve been encouraged, and I think we’re finally getting it down to put it in writing.”

Here is how Trump delivered so far on the 20 promises on his campaign’s official platform page on DonaldJTrump.com.

1. SEAL THE BORDER AND STOP THE MIGRANT INVASION

Hours after being inaugurated, Trump declared the national emergency at the southern border. Construction on the partially-completed border wall has resumed and the CBP One app has been rendered defunct in its usage by illegal immigrants. At the southern border, a new and formidable presence of United States Coast Guardsmen, Marines, and other soldiers have emerged to aid Border Patrol. The Department of Homeland Security has reinstated the term “illegal alien” as opposed to “undocumented non-citizen.” Yesterday, Trump’s newly sworn-in Attorney General Pam Bondi directed the Department of Justice to withhold all federal funding for sanctuary cities.

2. CARRY OUT THE LARGEST DEPORTATION OPERATION IN AMERICAN HISTORY

On January 24, the first deportation flights flew back to their home countries. The nations of Cuba, Haiti and Guatemala have already received repatriation flights of their citizens with the latter agreeing yesterday to increase deportation flights by another 40%.

3. END INFLATION, AND MAKE AMERICA AFFORDABLE AGAIN

Republicans on Capitol Hill are readying “one big, beautiful bill” that will slash roughly $1 trillion of spending from the budget and make his 2017 tax cuts more extensive and permanent. As of Wednesday, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise indicated that they are still looking for more areas to cut and intend to accomplish its passage via reconciliation to avoid a filibuster and pass it with a simple majority vote.

The push to deregulate has been a major factor of Trump’s plan to end inflation and make life affordable for Americans again. His 10-to-1 Deregulation Initiative requires “that whenever an agency promulgates a new rule, regulation, or guidance, it must identify at least 10 existing rules, regulations, or guidance documents to be repealed.“ This is more aggressive, by a factor of five, than his first term’s directive of one-in, two-out.

4. MAKE AMERICA THE DOMINANT ENERGY PRODUCER IN THE WORLD, BY FAR!

Energy production has always been a sweet spot on Trump’s agenda. Phrases like “drill, baby, drill” resonated with Americans especially as President Joe Biden was draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and the average cost of gasoline doubled since Biden’s inauguration. In June of 2022, the price-per-gallon exploded to 100% of its price of $2.39 in January of 2021. Another one of Trump’s Inauguration Day Executive Orders, “Unleashing American Energy” encourages energy exploration in our energy and resource-rich country, to establish the U.S. as a leading producer of non-fuel minerals, creating jobs and prosperity that strengthens America’s stability at home and national security across the globe. Energy security is national security.

5. STOP OUTSOURCING, AND TURN THE UNITED STATES INTO A MANUFACTURING SUPERPOWER

With fresh investments to the tune of $500 billion by SoftBank, Open AI and Oracle for an AI infrastructure project, and an injection of $600 billion by Saudi Arabia’s crown prince, the business boom is revving up in America. That has brought new opportunities for business repatriation for companies like Stellantis, which announced they will be reopening their assembly plant in Belvidere, Illinois, which will bring back 1,500 jobs. Coupled with that announcement is the news that they will build their next generation Dodge Durango in Detroit, Michigan. Trump added extra fire to the prosperity flame when he told the crowd at Davos to “make your product in America or pay tariffs.”

6. LARGE TAX CUTS FOR WORKERS, AND NO TAX ON TIPS!

President Trump has been working closely with Republicans on Capitol Hill to ensure these measures, along with ending taxes on overtime hours and Social Security benefits, are also included in the forthcoming budget reconciliation bill.

7. DEFEND OUR CONSTITUTION, OUR BILL OF RIGHTS, AND OUR FUNDAMENTAL FREEDOMS, INCLUDING FREEDOM OF SPEECH, FREEDOM OF RELIGION, AND THE RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS

Another Day 1 promise kept was the signing of the Executive Order titled “Restoring Freedom of Speech and Ending Federal Censorship.” The order states that “it is the policy of the United States to secure the right of the American people to engage in constitutionally protected speech.”

8. PREVENT WORLD WAR THREE, RESTORE PEACE IN EUROPE AND IN THE MIDDLE EAST, AND BUILD A GREAT IRON DOME MISSILE DEFENSE SHIELD OVER OUR ENTIRE COUNTRY — ALL MADE IN AMERICA

An early victory in President Trump‘s effort to secure the United States was the confirmation of Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem with bipartisan support. Additionally, unanimous confirmation allowed for the swift confirmation of his pick for Secretary of State Marco Rubio. It is now the official policy of the Department of State to put America first. On January 27, Donald Trump signed another Executive Order directing the construction of an iron dome missile defense shield for our homeland.

9. END THE WEAPONIZATION OF GOVERNMENT AGAINST THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

Having discussed extensively on the campaign trail the weaponization of the United States government against him, this was high on the priority list for the President. On Inauguration Day, he signed the “Ending the Weaponization of the Federal Government“ Executive Order which applies to not only presidents and elected officials, but to all Americans. All Americans should feel that the scales of justice are weighted equally.

10. STOP THE MIGRANT CRIME EPIDEMIC, DEMOLISH THE FOREIGN DRUG CARTELS, CRUSH GANG VIOLENCE, AND LOCK UP VIOLENT OFFENDERS

During a press conference Wednesday, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed that over 8,000 illegal aliens have been arrested and are pending deportation, with crimes ranging from terrorist activity and association with MS-13 and Tren de Aragua, to pedophilia, murder and DUIs. The arrests and detainments are ongoing.

11. REBUILD OUR CITIES, INCLUDING WASHINGTON, DC, MAKING THEM SAFE, CLEAN, AND BEAUTIFUL AGAIN.

The White House has laid out its plan to rebuild infrastructure in the United States. Beyond that, President Trump met with Washington, D.C. Democrat mayor Muriel Bowser shortly before taking office to discuss shared priorities, which include improving Washington, D.C. “President Trump and I both want Washington, D.C. to be the best, most most beautiful city in the world and we want the capital city to reflect the strength of our nation.”

12. STRENGTHEN AND MODERNIZE OUR MILITARY, MAKING IT, WITHOUT QUESTION, THE STRONGEST AND MOST POWERFUL IN THE WORLD

The “Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness” Executive Order was signed by President Trump on January 27 and states its purpose to “protect the American people and our homeland as the world’s most lethal and effective fighting force…for the sake of our Nation and the patriotic Americans who volunteered to serve it, military service must be reserved for those mentally and physically fit for duty…it is the policy of the United States government to establish high standards for troop, readiness, lethality, cohesion, honesty, humility, uniformity, and integrity.”

13. KEEP THE U.S. DOLLAR AS THE WORLD’S RESERVE CURRENCY

Aligned with President Trump’s priorities, his pick for Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, has stated unequivocally that “we must ensure that the US dollar remains the world reserve currency.”

14. FIGHT FOR AND PROTECT SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE WITH NO CUTS, INCLUDING NO CHANGES TO THE RETIREMENT AGE

This has been an ongoing and mutual priority for President Trump and many members of Congress. Upon negotiation and passage of the budget reconciliation bill, it will be delivered and signed into law by the 47th President.

15. CANCEL THE ELECTRIC VEHICLE MANDATE AND CUT COSTLY AND BURDENSOME REGULATION

For car manufacturers, dealers, and even consumers, the electric vehicle mandates across blue states became increasingly more punishing as deadlines in each of these places approached. In a November 2024 Pew Research study, a plurality, 50% of respondents said they were either not too likely or not at all likely to purchase an electric vehicle.

16. CUT FEDERAL FUNDING FOR ANY SCHOOL PUSHING CRITICAL RACE THEORY, RADICAL GENDER IDEOLOGY, AND OTHER INAPPROPRIATE RACIAL, SEXUAL, OR POLITICAL CONTENT ON OUR CHILDREN

In his January 29 Executive Order signing ceremony, schools were the focus: not only promoting school choice and allowing tax dollars to follow the student but also to block federal funding from any schools or school systems that push “gender ideology or discriminatory equity ideology.”

17. KEEP MEN OUT OF WOMEN’S SPORTS

Yesterday, surrounded by women of all ages, President Trump signed the “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” Executive Order, protecting women and girls in their chosen field of competition. The order states that, “in recent years, many educational institutions and athletic associations have allowed men to compete in women’s sports. This is demeaning, unfair, and dangerous to women and girls, and denies women and girls the equal opportunity to participate and excel in competitive sports.” Pointing directly to Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, the policy of the United States is now to rescind all funds from educational programs that deprived women and girls of fair athletic opportunities.

18. DEPORT PRO-HAMAS RADICALS AND MAKE OUR COLLEGE CAMPUSES SAFE AND PATRIOTIC AGAIN

In October of 2023 and during the following months’ protests, America’s collective attention turned to the problem of still-present antisemitism in the country. Universities in upheaval, Jewish students were threatened and kept out of classrooms and campus buildings while pro-Palestinian protestors paralyzed those learning institutions. The Executive Order “Protecting the United States from Foreign Terrorists and Other National Security and Public Threats” was signed by President Trump on day 1.

19. SECURE OUR ELECTIONS, INCLUDING SAME DAY VOTING, VOTER IDENTIFICATION, PAPER BALLOTS, AND PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP

President Trump is supportive of multiple proposed pieces of legislation to secure US elections. Upon signing, this will complete another priority.

20. UNITE OUR COUNTRY BY BRINGING IT TO NEW AND RECORD LEVELS OF SUCCESS

Pending. The American people will ultimately decide if this promise made is kept. With favorability numbers 10 points higher than the beginning of his term in 2017, a trajectory in his favor has been established.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
