ER Editor: Under the heading of ‘unexpected and welcome changes’, here is one in France. France is very top-heavy when it comes to the big cities, especially Paris. Top-heavy in terms of population size and political power. And it’s usually the Globalist-Marxist-Left in control. Think: centralization.
A reminder that Paris is (or perhaps was) one of the Globalists’ C40 cities, as evidenced here. The city has become a mess in terms of immigration, and impossible to drive around because of ‘climate goals’. Changing the road system constantly, making the city unfriendly to cars, simply means areas of the city are choked with cars at certain hours, producing even more pollution and long commutes. Socialist Anne Hidalgo is that mayor (although images that aren’t quite her on a Google search indicate she may be 2.0 by now). Helene de Lauzun below explains how such a person could get power under the old electoral-college style voting system, which is about to change, restoring leaders who may actually represent the views of their constituents.
